Shelter Operations: Prepares students to manage and operate a shelter in a team environment to meet the needs people affected by a disaster. Prerequisites: Intro to Disaster Services and Mass Care: An Overview

Client Casework: Providing Emergency Assistance (Basic) This course prepares volunteers to meet the emergency needs of families on an individual basis. Covers interviewing skills,attitudes, and relationships. The class is an 7 hour class but will be divided into two (2) 3.5 hour segments. Students must attend both classes.

disaster to help determine assistance needs. This is the classroom portion of the class. Prerequisites: You must complete the online class before taking this class.
